Dear Property Owner,
This is a follow up to our November 2011 meeting, to discuss the viability of the Arbon Herd District.
This will involve further discussion of issues involving the taxation for the Herd District, whether to re-form the Board and the impact of cattle coming in off of Federal Lands.
In an effort to address continuing problems and concerns regarding the Herd district, F. Randall Kline, the Elected Power County Prosecuting Attorney, will have a meeting at the Arbon School Building, multi-purpose room in Pauline, Idaho on the 16th day of April 2012 at 6:30pm.
If you have any questions, please call the prosecutor’s office at 208-226-1230.
Sincerely,

AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Posted by Ryan Weston in Community Announcement Sunday, 5 February 2012 09:50 No Comments
Arbon has moved up in the world!
I am pleased to announce that we have just received a Phillips AED (automated External Defibrillator) for the Arbon area. It is now set up and ready for use; those who are trained in the use of an AED are able to use it in an emergency. The picture above is the real thing and kept in the red carrying case. There are two sets of adult pads, one child/infant pad, and scissors.
I have been working on a location to store the AED and I am asking for ideas. A couple of ideas from people have been the post office and the school. So far we are not able to get permission to store it at the post office. The school or county shop would be great locations also, but they are not open or readily accessible at all times. This is the key part. It needs to be in a central location, and readily accessible at all times. Temperature and the elements are the other issue to store the AED. Other ideas have been to keep it at my house until we get a more suitable location.
So, as of right now, and to just get the word out, we have the device. The AED will be at my place and readily accessible. You can call Heather or me (Ryan) to bring the AED to the scene also, thus saving more time. Time is of great value in a cardiac emergency! In a cardiac emergency, for every minute that passes without the use of an AED, the chance of survival decreases by 10%.
Those who are trained to use the device may contact me to learn of the exact location, details, and uses of the AED. I don’t want to just post all the info on the Internet. I am willing to teach another CPR/First Aid/AED class (through the American Red Cross) for the valley, also. I need 6 or more preferred to teach the class. The great part, there have already been many people in the valley that have taken this course. Two people who have taken my class in the last year have already put their skill to the test performing CPR. You never know when, or where, you will be needed!
I would like to thank all of those who have donated to reach this achievement! THANK YOU!!! As for everyone out there… Please DRIVE CAREFUL and be safe! May you have a great your!
-Ryan.

Possible Arbon Post Office Closing – How You Can Help!

Dear Arbon residents,
The Arbon Post Office is on the list of several rural post offices in the state in danger of closing. Please write a letter to “To Whom it may Concern” about how this closure would affect you, your family, and your business. You could include the distance you are from town, the dangers of traveling in the winter, the essential mail you get (SS, medications, etc), and so forth.- any way that the post office closure will affect you.
These letters need to be delivered to the Arbon Post Office by Friday, August 26th, where they will be collected. Our voices are few and far between in Arbon, and without your voice and input, we could lose our post office for sure!
Please write, right now.  Time is of the essence!
