ARBON SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

February 21, 2017

The Arbon School Board met on February 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. members Jason Williams, Jake Evans, Jessica Ward were present as was clerk, Cheri Evans.

The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jessica to approve the agenda. The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jessica to approve the minutes after a correction to the date change of the February meeting. The bills were reviewed.  The motion was moved by Jason and seconded by Jessica to approve them.  The total M & O expenses for February was $32,873.01. The school received $59,512.30 from the State Department of Education, $20,875.86 from property taxes, $780.00 health insurance refund, $360.00 reimbursement for skills and $42.25 from interest on investments. The school M & O balance is $307,591.81. The Plant Facility received $30.57 from interest the Plant Facility balance is $54,466.46. The motion was moved by Jason and seconded by Jessica to approve the financial statement

The board would like the teachers to set up an assembly on Bullying with Mike Sanders.  Cheri will let them know.

The motion was moved by Jason to declare January 24^th as a day of emergency closure due to road conditions and blowing and drifting snow and therefore does not need to be made up.  The motion was seconded by Jake and passed unanimously.  The trustee position for the Pauline Zone #2 is up for election.  Petitions are due March 17^th at 5:00 p.m.

The job descriptions/duties for teacher and administrative form has been finalized.

The next meeting will be held March 14, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. The motion was moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting.  The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That declaration of candidacy for the office of Board of Trustees for the Trustee Zone #2 (Pauline) of Arbon Elementary School District No.383, Power County, Arbon, Idaho, must be filed with the Power County Clerk or with the district clerk whose address is 4405 Arbon Valley Hwy. no later than 5:00 p.m. on the 17th day of March, 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: that Declaration of Candidacy is available at the district office at:  4405 Arbon Valley Hwy. or at the office of the Power County Clerk. 543 Bannock Avenue, American Falls, Idaho.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: that individuals who run as write-in candidates must file a declaration of intent no later than 5:00 p.m. forty-five (45) days prior to the election (April 1st, 2017).

ARBON SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
January 12, 2017

The Arbon School Board met on January 12, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. members Jason Williams, Jake Evans, Jessica Ward were present as were Debbie Curry, Robin Claunch, Christie Evans and clerk, Cheri Evans.

The motion was moved by Jessica and seconded by Jake to approve the agenda. The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jessica to approve the minutes.  The bills were reviewed.  The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jason to approve them.  The total M & O expenses for January was $24,761.50. The school received $5,216.19 from REAP, $2,595.58 from property taxes and $129.65 from interest on investments. The school M & O balance is $258,794.41. The Plant Facility received $27.87 from interest the Plant Facility balance is $54,435.89. The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jason to approve the financial statement.

Skills, skiing and snowboarding, at Pebble Creek will start on this Friday, January 13 and end on Friday, February 3, due to school being closed on January 6^th.

The motion was moved by Jake to declare January 5^th, 6^th, 9^th and 10^th as days of emergency closure due to below zero temperatures, road condition and blowing and drifting snow and therefore do not need to be make up.  The motion was seconded by Jason and passed unanimously.

The board and teachers went over the teacher job descriptions and duties and made a few changes.  Jessica will correct the changes and email a final copy to everyone.

The next meeting will be held February 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. The motion was moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting.  The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
