School Board Minutes

ARBON SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

February 18, 2014

The Arbon School Board met on February 18, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. members Jason Williams and Melinda Campbell were present as were Debbie Curry and clerk, Cheri Evans.

The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jason to approve the agenda. The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jason to approve the minutes.  The bills were reviewed. The motion was moved by Jason and seconded by Melinda to approve them. The total M & O expenses for the month of February was $22,689.73. The school received $34,501.56 from the State Department of Education, $643.68 from property and $5.86 from interest on investments. The school M & O balance is $157,786.67. The Plant Facility received $1.67 from interest the Plant Facility balance is $42,994.97. The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jason to approve the financial statement.

Rosetta Stone is not working on the student computers, Thin Clients, Debbie said Jacob is checking into this issue.  Debbie has reapplied for the Lowe’s grant.  The SBAC and IRI Testing window is April 1st through May 16th.

Jake will put the teacher duties in addition to teaching on a spreadsheet and have it ready for next month’s meeting.

The May 20th supplemental levy will be decided on at the March meeting.

The next meeting will be held on March 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The motion was moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting.  The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.


Health Care for Farmers

Juli Fitch has arranged for Mark Seamons from Seamons Financial to come out and present information on the new health care laws and how they might affect farmers, ranchers, and others in the valley.  After his presentation, he will be available for questions.

This meeting is Tuesday night, March 11 at 7:00pm at the Arbon School. Please call Juli for more information.

Arbon Valley Roots Group

Update!
Because of a conflict, Roots will meet one week early, on Wednesday, March 5th (7:00 @ Shanna’s house) instead of on March 12th as originally planned.  If you have an interest in exploring your family history with other like-minded neighbors, you are invited to come, no matter what your level of learning is.

Dinner Activity at Arbon LDS Church

There will be a dinner / get-together at the Arbon LDS Church on Friday the 21st @ 6:30 PM.  Everyone is invited!  Please bring a salad and/or desert and join us for a nice dinner and a chance to see all of your neighbors.  We’d love to see you there.
