Arbon

The Arbon family was one of the first families in the valley. They were influential in Arbon, starting in 1894. The Arbon home still stands today, on Church Road, west of the LDS Church building. George and his son Joseph came to what was then called Bannock Valley in 1894, and were known to be the first homesteaders to spend the winter in valley. In 1898, because at the great age of fifty-seven George was one of the oldest settlers, the post office was named after him.
